About the Fire District:

The Lady's Island - St. Helena Fire District Proudly protects approximately 20,000 people living in an area of 140 square miles. We operate out of five station that protect both urban and rural areas. The District was created in 1972 by Act 1727, amended January 23rd 1974. Our department is a public department whose members include a combination of paid and volunteer status. Five staff personnel and Sixty paid firefighters. We have an ISO classification of 4/9(approximately 98% is in Class 4). Our services include Fire, Haz-Mat, Search & Rescue and Extrication. Our dispatching methods are by dialing 911. We belong to the following organizations:
